Raleigh, NC – Michael D. Seemuller, MD, of Piedmont, SC, Chief Quality Officer at Anmed Medical Center, has been awarded Constellation Quality Health’s Timothy Llewelyn, MD, Memorial Award in recognition for his outstanding patient care, integrity, compassion, and medical leadership in South Carolina. Constellation Quality Health President and CEO Steven Martin and Board Chair Jeff Perkins presented the award along with a $5,000 check during the South Carolina Medical Association’s annual meeting in Columbia on April 25, 2025. In recognition of this honor, he has chosen to designate the Urban League of the Upstate as the beneficiary of the $5,000 sponsorship awarded in his name.
Dr. Seemuller held true to his life-long mantra of “Autograph Your Work with Excellence” in his continuous pursuit of excellence in the medical field and quality patient care. His early career in medicine was marked by working in the Shenandoah Valley as a clinician, high school team physician, hospitalist, and community leader. With more than 20 years in family medicine, he specializes in treating diabetes, coronary artery disease, hypertension, among other conditions.
Dr. Seemuller received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. His degrees also include the Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physician (AAFP) and Certified Physician Executive.
“As a proven leader in quality medical care and as a steward for underserved populations, Dr. Seemuller demonstrates the highest standards of excellence in medicine and patient care, most befitting of the distinguished Llewelyn Award,” said Martin. “It is an honor and privilege to recognize him for his outstanding achievements that impact patient care in South Carolina.”
Established in 2015, the Llewelyn Memorial Award honors the life and memory of one of Constellation’s long-serving board members, Timothy Llewelyn, MD, for his decades of service to the South Carolina medical community and many other professional, civic, and community activities.
